Year 5 ICT and Computing Activities

Please visit the Amazing ICT site run by Mr. Smith to see a huge number of activities and e-safety advice. Mr. Smith was due to be doing some coding with us in Year 5 this term, there’s a lot of Scratch activities already on the site and there’s help in this video.

This video shares some ways you can limit access to You Tube videos.

You’ll need to create an account if you want to save and publish your games and may need your parents help for this.

The internet safety games we had planned to share with the children can be found on the Google Be Internet Legends website – keeping safe online will be very important as we ask the children to use online resources to support their remote learning.

There are further resources for online safety from ThinkUKnow

Mr. Denton has added film related activities to make films and support watching films through Into Film at the Meadows Film Club Blog

BBC Bitesize have added this lesson on debugging

and this one on knowing if a website is safe (19th June)

This BBC Bitesize lesson is about what makes a good computer game and how they are made
