Easter Experience at St. Mary’s

Thank you to Pam, Reverend Heather and everyone else at St. Mary’s this morning who welcomed our year 5 children to lead them through stories related to the Easter story.

Knife Angel visit.

Today, Year 5 visited the Knife Angel, which is currently on display in the Telford Town Centre. This was followed by a drama workshop aimed at raising awareness of the danger of carrying knives.

Science Week Forensic Workshop

The children have been investigating crime scenes in a workshop that has enabled them to use forensic science skills.

World Book Day

As part of celebrating World Book Day, the children in year 5 have created bookmarks that include book recommendations and have decorated the classroom door as a book cover. They’ll be participating in story circle reading activities with favourite bedtime stories this afternoon – hence the pyjamas..

Year 5 Science

In Science this week, Year 5 investigated plants so they could learn the correct vocabulary for the parts of the plant’s reproductive system. Next week we will be having some special workshops for Science week.

Telford Tennis Centre Workshop and Assembly

Today, Tim from Telford Tennis Centre came to assembly to tell us about his upcoming courses and then took Year 5 through a workshop of warm ups and exercises to experience what the course is like.

Class 11 have had their first circuit training session of the year today.

Anglo Saxon Homes

This week we prepared to label diagrams about Anglo Saxon homes by completing research and trying to make our own models of Anglo Saxon homes. Not entirely successful but a memorable experience.
